Tennis


Tennis is a racquet sport between two or four people. The racquet is strung with cord to hit a ball over a net and into the opponent’s court and land in such a way that the opponent is unable to play a good return ball. Tennis balls are made of hollow rubber with a felt coating.

Tennis is a skill that requires good upper limb flexibility, good hand-eye-ball coordination and a muscular system trained for strength, power, endurance and speed. Tennis involves powerful explosive movements and frequent bursts of short-distance running, decelerating and stopping and split second changes of direction. This is particularly good for strengthening ligaments and fast-twitch muscle fibres.
